    About Scag Power Equipment

Founded in 1983, Scag Power Equipment is a division of Metalcraft of Mayville Inc. and is one of largest independent manufacturers of commercial mowing equipment. You’ll find Scag stand-on, walk-behind, and zero-turn lawn mowers for sale on TractorHouse.com—with zero-turn models generally being the most common.

Scag starts building every mower from a piece of sheet or tube steel. The rest of the build process, from presses to welds, paint, and shipping, is done in-house. Scag has produced a few notable feats of engineering during its history. For example, in 1986, the company developed a belt-driven walk-behind mower that gave commercial landscapers a more compact tool for tight spaces. In 1989, Scag introduced the industry’s first dual-pump, dual-motor walk-behind for zero-turn operation. A year later, Scag manufactured its first riding zero-turn mower.

The Turf Tiger series of one of Scag’s most popular lineups. Originally introduced in 1997, modern Turf Tiger models can mow at speeds of up to 12mph. The Turf Tiger series has a main frame of double-tube steel for extra strength and durability, and the heavy-duty lawn mower also features “flat free” front caster tires with tapered roller bearings and replaceable front caster extensions.
