Read More (About Kinze)Founded as a small repair shop in Ladora, Iowa, Kinze Manufacturing has grown into an industry-leading manufacturer of innovative harvest, planting, and tillage equipment. For over 50 years, Kinze has specialized in producing solution-based products for its customers. Today, the company operates from its headquarters in Williamsburg, Iowa.
Kinze’s product range has earned a strong reputation amongst farmers; the manufacturer's signature blue, white, and black color scheme can be found on row crop planters and dual-auger grain carts worldwide.
With $25 in his pocket and a small bank loan, Jon Kinzenbaw opened a welding shop in 1965. Four years later, Kinze manufactured its first product, a 13-knife anhydrous ammonia applicator. Kinze's first grain cart, a single-axle, low-profile grain cart, rolled out in 1971, revolutionizing grain handling.
Then, in 1975, Kinzenbaw had a conversation with farmers that changed his company’s trajectory forever. Farmers Kinzenbaw knew shared stories about how much time they wasted dismantling and loading planters onto drop-bed trailers, and Kinze responded by developing a rear-folding planter toolbar. Word spread quickly, and the planter toolbar sold just as rapidly, allowing Kinze to build a new manufacturing plant and increase production. By 1980, Kinze added 600- and 800-bushel (21,000- and 28,000-liter) grain carts to its product lineup.
Kinze has introduced several products equipped with advanced technology, including high-speed planters and precision farming equipment. Kinze has also established itself as a leader in autonomous technology in the agriculture industry; the company introduced the Autonomous Harvest System, consisting of a John Deere tractor equipped with Kinze automation equipment and a Kinze grain cart in 2011 and an autonomous planting system a year later.
In 2018, Kinze debuted its Mach till disks. These low-maintenance disks operate at high speeds, achieving average productivity of up to 50 acres (20 hectares) per hour while breaking up compaction layers to promote root growth.
