The Stockholm, Sweden-based Husqvarna Group bills itself as the world’s biggest producer of outdoor power equipment aimed at lawn, tree, grounds, and turf care and Europe’s leading producer of consumer watering products. Employing roughly 13,000 people in 40 countries, the company’s brands include Husqvarna, Gardena, McCulloch, Poulan Pro, Weed Eater, Flymo, Zenoah, and Diamant Boart. The company’s product lines include robotic, zero-turn, stand-on, walk-behind, and riding lawn mowers, as well as hedge trimmers, edgers, brush cutters, pole saws, forestry clearing saws, power cutters, pressure washers, tillers, aerators, dethatchers, sod cutters, log splitters, stump grinders, and snow blowers.

Husqvarna also manufactures a bevy of accessories and attachments, including chainsaw chains and bars, helmets, cases and bags, hearing and eye protection, axes, hooks, tongs, dump carts, blades, snow throwers, scoops, brush guards, and disc cultivators. The company operates a construction division that manufactures primarily light construction equipment, including diamond tools and equipment designed for sawing, drilling, grinding, polishing, and demolishing. The company’s sales and dealer base includes 5,000-plus U.S. locations. The company says it keeps more than 1.74 million parts on hand.

Husqvarna’s history traces all the way back to 1689 with the creation of its first plant as a weapons foundry. Over the years, the company has manufactured rifles, shotguns, bicycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, and kitchen equipment. After expanding into lawn mower production in 1918, Husqvarna tested its first engine-powered model in 1947 and released the world’s first solar-powered, robotic lawn mower in 1995. Although Electrolux acquired Husqvarna in 1978, it spun the company off in 2006.
