You’ll still find a number of used Ford tractors for sale, many years after the Ford name disappeared from agricultural machinery manufacturing when it joined forces with Sperry New Holland in 1986 to create Ford New Holland, which was then acquired by Fiat in 1991 and became known simply as New Holland.

Ford has remained a leader in tractor manufacturing, both in the United States and England, almost from the time Henry Ford first introduced his “automobile plow” in 1907. Ford released what it would officially label as its first tractor in 1917: the Fordson Model F. For a number of years, Ford made Fordson tractors, including the Fordson Major, Fordson New Major, and Fordson Dexta, available primarily in the British market, while Ford models, including the 9N, 2N, 8N, 200, 600, 800, and 900 series, were available primarily in the United States. That changed in the 1950s and 1960s when Ford began offering several models of tractors for different markets and then eventually started marketing the same models around the world. Some of the last Ford tractors made, before Fiat began phasing out the Ford name, were the 10 series (Ford 6610, Ford 7610, etc.) and 70 series (Ford 8670, Ford 8770, Ford 8970, etc.).

Ford’s tractors were among the first to be affordable for average farmers and also offered many industry-leading features such as power hydraulics, rubber pneumatic tires, diesel engines, and a three-point hitch. If you’re looking for new or used Ford tractors for sale, TractorHouse is the right place.
