About Woods

In 1946, brothers Leonard, Keith, and Mervel Wood designed and built a tractor-mounted rotary cutter, the first product from the newly created Woods Equipment Co. The company has since continued to refine the rotary cutter marketplace, adding new cutters and options to create the lineup of Batwing, Brushbull, Ditch Bank, and RC Series cutters available today.

Expansion

The Oregon, Illinois,-based company first expanded its agricultural equipment for sale in 1993 when it acquired Du-AL tractor-mounted front-end loaders. Woods loaders can be painted to match almost any tractor brand and come in bucket widths of 48 to 96 inches with lift heights of 72 to 156 inches. In 1994, Woods acquired Alloway Manufacturing, adding tractor-mounted flail shredders, cultivators, sugar beet defoliators, and snow blowers. In 1995, Woods entered the grounds maintenance market when it purchased Gill.

Current Woods Equipment Offerings

Through the years, Woods also started offering a full line of finish and zero-turn mowers for sale, including rear discharge, front-mount, undermount, and three-point hitch. Woods also has a number of skid steer attachments for sale, including grading and box scrapers, cultipackers, disk harrows, rear blades, rotary tillers, and stump grinders. Woods Equipment is now a brand of Blount International.
