Read More (About Westfield)Westfield is a leading manufacturer of portable grain-handling equipment, including augers and conveyors.
Founder Abraham Plett purchased a grain auger from another manufacturer to resell to a customer in 1950. The auger collapsed while in use, the narrowly averted disaster prompting Plett to build a stronger, safer undercarriage of his own design. This eventually led Plett to build a new grain auger from the ground up. He sold the first two in 1951 under the Westfield brand, and a new company was born.
Westfield had an 8,400-foot2 (780-meter2) factory in Rosenort, Manitoba, Canada, in 1968. A few decades later, the manufacturer was acquired by Ag Growth International, Inc. (AGI) in 2000. A decade after that, Westfield’s facility grew to 150,000 ft2 (13,935 m2) in size; the company says it is now the No. 1 portable grain auger manufacturer in North America.
Westfield sells 10-, 13-, and 16-inch (25.4-, 33-, and 40.6-centimeter) MKX Series grain augers, straight truck augers, belt conveyors, the GULP2 drive-over hopper, the X-Tend retracting swing auger, drill fills, gravity wagons, and bin unload systems. The popular Westfield MKX2 augers have an open discharge spout, aircraft cable trussing, and wide-standing axles. They come in lengths ranging from 53 to 125 ft (16 to 38 m).
Westfield’s belt conveyors are designed to move your crops carefully to limit impact damage. They are high-capacity, low-horsepower machines that require limited maintenance. The WCX field loader has two belt scrapers, a belt brush, and a turbo clean wash system and can handle up to 10,000 bushels (352,000 liters) per hour. The conveyor’s parallel hopper cloth maintains a width of 32 in. (81.3 cm) throughout its full working length.
The company also makes accessories, including transfer augers, power swings, flex spouts, reverser kits, corn screens, hoppers, swivel arc kits, light kits, steerable axles, right angle drives, and other options that help make Westfield’s products versatile enough for use on any farm.
