Today’s MacDon line of hay and forage equipment for sale dates back to 1951 when Killbery Industries developed one of the first sell-propelled windrowers. Killbery, which was known for its sprayers, grain augers, seeders, and cultivators, carried both those products and hay and forage equipment until 1971, when the MacDonald family purchased the manufacturer and shifted the focus to designing, building, and selling harvesting equipment.

Eventually, the company changed names to MacDon Industries. The Canada-based company offers its windrowers and mower conditioners for sale, along with draper, pick-up, auger, and rotary disc headers, in 40 countries spanning six continents. Its unique MacDon FlexDraper headers for combines have a fixed reel-to-cutter bar relationship that maintains a consistent, small gap between the reel fingers and cutter bar for the best cutting and performance in even the most challenging fields, the company says. MacDon has offices in Canada, the United States, Australia, Russia, and Brazil but still designs and manufactures every machine at its Winnipeg, Manitoba, headquarters.
