    About Gravity Wagons

    Killbros 1055 Gravity Wagon

Gravity wagons, also called slant wagons or gravity flow wagons, are carts constructed with sloped hopper walls that allow their contents to unload through a large unloading door on the bottom of one side of the hopper, making use of gravity rather than an auger or other mechanism. Unlike grain carts that use an auger to unload grain from the cart into a grain truck, gravity wagons are usually transported to where the grain will be stored permanently, such as a grain bin or elevator.

    Uses & Features

Gravity wagons are primarily used on farms for hauling crops, grain, seed, or fertilizer. Gravity wagons come in a variety of sizes, ranging in capacity from 50 to 750 bushels for an array of operations. Some models come with features like viewing windows, observation ladders, and lighting for safer and easier unloading, even at night. Attachments and features such as augers of varying lengths, flex spouts, roll tarps, fenders, metering doors, and dual-side chute access are also available, depending on the make and model. Some gravity wagons have dual compartments with separate doors for independent operation to allow two crops to carried at once and unloaded independently as needed.
