Individual wrappers, which are less expensive and often more practical for many operations, come in stationary models that are used near where the bales will be stored, as well as pull-behind models that are operated in the field. Wrappers are operated either automatically or manually. The relatively new combination baler-wrappers, meanwhile, create a bale and immediately wrap it before setting it on the ground, which enables all the work to be done in a single pass. Operators can turn off the wrapping function when hay is harvested dry.
