    About Bale Wrappers

The process of wrapping bales with bale wrappers helps reduce losses due to spoilage and ensures that bales maintain higher nutritional value. Simultaneously, bale wrappers help reduce feed and labor costs. Bale wrappers are available in individual, inline wrapper, and combination baler-wrapper models. The wrappers use either a turntable (or platform) that rotates the bale while plastic is fed and wrapped from a stationary roll, or a satellite. The latter, also referred to as swinging arms, involves plastic rolls that rotate around the bale. Some wrappers can load and discharge the bales automatically, while others require another piece of equipment for these tasks.

    Inline, Single & Combination Options

Inline wrappers, also known as tube wrappers, can wrap multiple bales together in one continuous “tube” of plastic, and are ideal for large operations. Individual wrappers, which are less expensive and often more practical for many operations, come in stationary models that are used near where the bales will be stored, as well as pull-behind models that are operated in the field. Wrappers are operated either automatically or manually. The relatively new combination baler-wrappers, meanwhile, create a bale and immediately wrap it before setting it on the ground, which enables all the work to be done in a single pass. Operators can turn off the wrapping function when hay is harvested dry.
