    About The Toro Company

For more than a century, Toro has been a leading global manufacturer of residential and professional lawn mowers from walk-behind and riding models to stand-on and zero-turn mowers. The company also makes driplines, hose fittings, valves, snow blowers, outdoor lighting solutions, irrigation solutions, aerators, trenchers, compact utility loaders, silt seeders, concrete and masonry equipment, rammers, and other outdoor equipment for commercial, residential, agriculture, sports, construction, and other usages.

    Toro Company History

Now based in Bloomington, Minnesota, and reaching 90-plus countries, Toro was originally established to build engines for The Bull Tractor Company, from which Toro derived its name. Following Bull Tractor’s demise a few years later, Toro transitioned into the mower industry and created a motorized fairway tractor called the Standard Golf Machine that featured five lawn mowers mounted on a farm tractor. Toro also introduced its TO-RO Utility Tractor, the motorized Park Special walk-behind reel mower, the first bagging mower, a “Guaranteed to Start” consumer power mower program, and the Toro Groundsmaster 5900 series.

Over the decades, Toro underwent numerous name changes and made numerous acquisitions. The company’s brands include Boss Snowplow, Exmark, Irritrol, Unique Lighting Systems, Hayter, Pope, and Lawn-Boy. Product lines include Aeroseeder, Grandstand, Greensmaster, Groundsmaster, HydroJect, Power Clear, Power Max, Reelmaster, TimeCutter, Titan, Wheel Horse, Workman, and Z Master.
