DMI was established in 1961 after Bill Dietrich decided to quit school six years prior to help on his family’s hog farm and decided to start selling water tanks, farrowing crates, and dry fertilizer equipment. The company started out on the family farm with a 2,000 square foot facility but saw so much success that it moved into a new 9,000 square foot facility in 1963, a 15,000 square foot space 15 months later, and then a total of 233,000 square feet by 1974.

In 1999, the company was sold to Case and merged with its New Holland brand, which marked the end of DMI as an employee-owned company. However, you’ll still find DMI gravity wagons, Nutri Placers, disc levelers, and other types of ag equipment for sale on TractorHouse.com.
