Founded in 1971, Thurston Manufacturing Co. takes its name from the Thurston, Nebraska, location where it designs and produces its line of Blu-Jet farm equipment. The manufacturer’s first product was a self-coupling hitch for tractors and wagons, followed by fertilizer injection toolbars for applying anhydrous ammonia, tillage implements, and other equipment primarily focused on being environmentally-friendly and conservation-minded.

Blu-Jet notes that it was the first manufacturer to build an applicator with tall tractor tires, a design meant to reduce compaction in the field. It was also the first to introduce a 60-foot-wide liquid injection applicator and a 60-foot-wide anhydrous ammonia applicator. Today, Blu-Jet products are sold worldwide, including toolbars for fertilizer injection, liquid side-dress applicators, spreaders for dry fertilizer, trench and track fillers, implement caddies, and strip-till, low-disturbance, and primary tillage equipment.

You’ll find a wide variety of new and used Blu-jet equipment for sale on TractorHouse.com, including rippers, vertical tillage equipment, liquid fertilizer applicators, anhydrous applicators, and much more.
