This J-Craft JCULT19X463/16D is built around a payload question: how much can you carry at legal weights, and how much of that can you keep out of the way of the driver? The answer starts with the 10x4 layout. A 20,000 lb front axle, a 40,000 lb Airliner tandem rear, and two 10,000 lb steerable pushers add up to a 79,000 lb GVWR, and the pushers keep the truck easier to turn than its axle count suggests. On top sits a 19' elliptical body holding about 19 cy, built from 3/16" AR450 steel on the front, sides, floor, and tailgate, with a sloped rear and an I-beam longsill on a crossmemberless understructure. Dumping runs off a telescopic trunnion-mount hoist with power take-off hydraulics, and the air-operated tailgate has an internal high lift cylinder, an air latch, and spreader chains. An asphalt taper, a vibrator, an electric vinyl tarp, and a narrow-width 16" cab shield make it as at home with sticky material and paving loads as it is with aggregate. The Cummins X12 makes 455 hp through an Allison 4500 RDS-P, with an engine brake, air brakes, an air dryer, a driver-controlled locking differential, and an engine block heater. The cab has air ride seats for driver and passenger, heated mirrors, power windows and locks, and a rear camera, and the 100 gal fuel tank is sized for long hauling days. A pintle hitch, 7-way round receptacle, and gladhands are included for pulling a trailer. Shovel holders and a ladder are on the body, and strobe lights, a backup alarm, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit come standard.
