Deere Introduces Factory-Installed ExactRate Liquid Fertilizer Application System For Select Planters
John Deere recently unveiled a new liquid fertilizer application system that will be available as an option with select planters. The system monitors and controls liquid fertilizer application while planting, addressing continuing concerns among producers about rising input costs by enabling precise application placement and reducing inputs when possible.
Precise Control
Deere says ExactRate is fully compatible with its ExactEmerge and MaxEmerge 5e planters, including the 1775NT 12Row30, 1775NT 16Row30, 1775NT 24Row30, 1795 23or24Row12, 1795 24Row20, 1795 31or32Row15, DB60 24Row30, DB60 36Row20, DB60 24Row Split 47 or 48, DB66 36Row22, and DB44 24Row22 models. Thanks to a hydraulic-driven pump, ExactRate allows the planters to plant and apply nutrients at up to 10 mph (16 km/h), and can automatically adjust application rates to match ground speed.
“ExactRate gives operators row-by-row section control to help reduce fertilizer costs and the amount of chemicals applied by shutting off application in areas of overlap or non-application," says Ryan Hough, Deere marketing manager for planting and seeding. "Using ExactRate, customers can follow the 4R Principles of Nutrient Stewardship by applying the right product, at the right rate, at the right time, and in the right place."
Entry & Exit
Using ExactRate apps, which are fully compatible with the John Deere 4640 Universal Display and Deere 4600CommandCenter, operators can access in-cab flow detection and in-field documentation data. Hough says the system compensates for both commanded rate changes and speed changes, while also providing curve compensation. “This helps ensure growers apply the right rates across their fields, including entry and exit of headlands," he says.
John Deere will start taking orders in June for planters factory-equipped with the ExactRate system, and deliveries will begin in the fall. You’ll find a big selection of new and used John Deere planting equipment and fertilizer applicators for sale every day on TractorHouse.com, including John Deere planters and John Deere applicators.
