History of 21st Century Equipment, Inc. September 1996 - 21st Century Equipment, Inc. was organized to purchase the John Deere dealership in Alliance, Nebraska.
January 1998 – 21st Century Equipment in Alliance was merged with Morrill County Implement in Bridgeport, Nebraska, which then assumed the name of 21st Century Equipment, Inc.
August 2000 – Keith County Implement in Ogallala, Nebraska was purchased and the name was changed to 21st Century Equipment, Inc.
March 2001- 21st Century Equipment, Inc. purchased the B&B Sales real estate in Sidney, NE. At the time of the acquisition, B&B Sales was a Ford/New Holland equipment dealership. 21st Century Equipment converted the existing facility and began a John Deere dealership in the location. The Sidney area had been without a John Deere dealership for more than two years.
February 2002- 21st Century Equipment, Inc. purchased six of the former Quality Farm Stores which have been renamed "The Mercantile". The locations include: Alliance, Bridgeport, Chadron, Ogallala, Sidney, and Scottsbluff. The stores opened in June 2002.
March 2002- 21st Century Equipment, Inc. also purchased the former Quality Farm Stores located in Gordon, NE and Torrington, WY. These two stores opened in October 2002.
October 2003- The Mercantile opened for business in Brighton, CO with the purchase of the former Country General building.
Spring 2004 - The Mercantile has announced plans to open a new store in Loveland, CO in the Spring of 2004.
